How the workshop works:

The teams of the selected films spend 6 months working in the editing room

The complete teams of director – producer – editor attend the whole program of all the 3 workshop sessions

The editing mentors work with the participants continuously to develop the storytelling, to focus the topic, and find new ways to tell their stories,

The production mentors help the producers to deal with the financing, team management and distribution

Marketing tutors follow the teams to position the film, to target their audience, and attract it

Distribution tutors build with the participants a sophisticated strategy how to break into the market

DOK.Incubator opens gates to a testing audience  among experienced festival representatives and sales agents for the participants to design and test an effective tailor-made distribution strategy.

1st Session: April – Třešť (Czech Republic)

2nd Session: July – Smolenice (Slovakia)

3rd Session:  September  – Malmö (Sweden)

  • Between the 1st and the 2nd workshop , please, book your editor’s time for 4 – 6 weeks  (June you’re submitting a new version of the cut for the tutors)
  • Between the 2nd and 3rd workshop you’re closing the cut, editing the trailer and preparing the distribution/marketing package

OBSERVERS among editors, sales people and film institutions’ representatives are welcome

TO APPLY, you will need:

1. English – subtitled rough cut of your film or edited scenes in the lengths of 40-90 min., max. 2GB (we prefer mp4/mov format) an additional edited pilot/trailer/teaser of the film is an advantage (only voluntary)
2. treatment (max. 1 page) based on the shot material
3. link to the reference film of the director
4. stills from your film
5. portrait photo of director, editor and producer, their CVs and contacts

All the visual materials (even English speaking) must be subtitled in English (it does not have to be a perfect translation, but it should make the storyline understandable for the viewer)

We guarantee the applicants to keep the rough-cut version you send us strictly confidential and share exclusively it with the selection committee for the selection purposes.
