Three DOK.Incubator films NOMINATED AT IDFA

The nominations for IDFA’s various competition programs have just been announced.DOK.Incubator has supported three of the nominees, in two different competitions!

Something Better to Come“, a film by Hanna Polak /PL/, DOK.Incubator 2013 observer, who has followed her main character Yula for 14 years, from she is 11 until she turns 25 on her way out of the Europe´s biggest garbage dump.The is nominated for

the IDFA Competition for Feature-Length Documentary. Moreover, this film has been nominated also for IDFA DOC U Award On Friday, the DOC U jury, consisting of young people aged 15 to 18 years.
The jury of the IDFA Competition for First Appearance will need to decide between two of DOK.Incubator 2014 participants: “Drifter“, a film by Gabor Hörcher/HU/ and Eva Tomanova´s /CZ/ debute “Always Together” /CZ/, portraying an unusual Czech family, living with nine children on sunlit meadows seem to be a paradise – but the father is a disciplinarian and leads his family with a heavy hand.
Drifter” brings ont he big stage the rugged, persistent Hungarian countryside, loaded with decay and melancholy. Following 18-year-old rebell Risci on his complicated way towards his big dream: a rally troophey. With an enourmous intimacy with Ricsi and his
juvenile male restlessness the film beautifully frames the poverty-stricken Hungarian countryside.
The winners will be announced on Friday evening at the closing ceremony of the 27th IDFA in Amsterdam’s Compagnietheater.
