A Woman Captured flying to SUNDANCE in 2018

We are overjoyed to announce that after having spread its wings at IDFA in November 2017, Bernadett Tuza-Ritter’s unsettling film A Woman Captured is taking flight once more and will land at Sundance in 2018.

Bernadett’s first feature length traces the unbelievable story of Marish, a European woman who has been working as a slave in a Hungarian home for ten years. Starved, beaten, and exhausted, Marish’s determination to reclaim her life remains steadfast and, drawing courage from Bernadett’s presence, she steels herself to escape.

“It was one of the best experiences of my life and definitely the most professional workshop I’ve ever been to. I’m sure [A Woman Captured] wouldn’t be as successful without the help of dok.incubator.” – Bernadett Tuza-Ritter, director

“Everything was great. Nice, professional, smooth and useful. We felt privileged to be part of this top league.” – Viki Réka Kiss, producer

A Woman Captured will be the first ever Hungarian feature length documentary to compete at the prestigious Sundance World Documentary Competition, which selects a mere 12 films from around the world every year. We would like to wish our Hungarian participants from our 2017 workshop the very best of luck!
