Arkaitz Basterra is a producer-writer-director from the Basque Country of Spain. He studied film directing at the New York Film Academy. In Prague, he completed a trilogy of feature-length documentaries on the theme of “The creative process and the search for home”: “Agian/Maybe ” (director-producer; premiered at the San Sebastian IFF), about the components of a Basque artistic venture; “Life and Film ”, a biography and cinematic appreciation of Vojtěch Jasný, (director-producer; premiered at the San Sebastian IFF and the Montreal World Film Festival), and, “Café Louvre Diaries ,” a film about the historical Café Louvre in Prague (director). He is currently producing and directing a new documentary feature film entitled “Oženil jsem se s filmem ” about the figure of the Czech archivist, Vladimir Opela. Arkaitz is also a film consultant focused on the international side of the projects, both in development and post-production period, assisting other European producers in finding international partners, financing and distribution.
