Roman graduated school and college majoring in arts at the theater faculty and obtained higher education in I.K. Karpenko-Kary University of Theatre, Cinema and Television as a specialist of non-fiction filmmaking. He joined Babylon’13 and worked with them from 2013 till now. His full length debut is War Note made only from personal recordings from phones and go pros of Ukrainian soldiers from 2014. His artistic documentary Iron Butterflies had world premiere at Sundance 2023 (world documentary competition) and European premiere at Berlinale 2023 (Panorama section).
