Jan Poukar is a Czech artist and graphic designer who has focused primarily on film posters since the beginning of his career. Since 2012, he has created more than 140 posters for Czech and Slovak films. He was first nominated for a Czech Lion award in 2015 for his visual design for the film Fotograf, and in 2020, in addition to another nomination for his visual design for the film Havel, he won a Czech Lion award for his poster for the film Krajina ve stínu. In the following years, he received nominations for the films Moje slunce Mad (My Sunny Maad) and Hranice lásky (Borders of Love). In 2024, he and Jan Kadlec won their second Czech Lion for the visual for the film Amerikánka. In addition to his artistic activities, he also founded the non-profit organization NÁROD POHASL in 2014, which initiated and participated in the creation of the Jan Palach Memorial in his native house in Všetaty, which opened in 2019.
