Andrei Gorgan is an experienced Romanian editor working in the field for almost 20 years. He graduated from the National University of Drama and Cinematography Bucharest, Film Editing section, with the thesis ‘Narrative Roles in Cinema’. He was the editor for award winning fiction films such as ‘The Cage’, ‘Domestic’, ‘Best Intentions’ directed by Adrian Sitaru, selected in Berlinale, Locarno, Slamdance, Mar del Plata etc. and documentary feature length such as ‘A Mere Breath’ by Monica Lazurean-Gorgan, awarded in Sarajevo with Best Documentary award and in CEE Vienna IFF – Best Doc in International Competition, Best Doc for Romanian National Awards 2017, screened on Mubi and Amazon, selected in Visions du Reel, Chicago IFF etc. Andrei is the co-director of two documentaries, ‘Free Dacians’ about Romanian rise of nationalism, awarded with Best Doc as audience award in Rasnov IFF 2018 and also co-director for the medium length documentary ‘My Vote’ selected for Rotterdam IFF and awarded in Sarajevo IFF 2012.
