Anna Durisikova is a film and theatre director, producer, translator and performance artist. She studied Theatre Directing at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático in Madrid and got her PhD in literature and translation at Comenius University in Bratislava. As director, she has staged plays by Ivan Vyrypaev, Federico García Lorca, Eduardo Rovner, Fernando Arrabal and a play based on the memoirs of Herculine Barbin. Her work fuses different kinds of art, focusing on marginal topics, minorities, gender violence, environmental violence, animal rights, and queer utopias. She works as director and producer for the production company Admiral Films.
