Katharina Voß is a freelance editor and filmmaker in documentary, fictional, and art filmmaking. After a first professional life as a bookseller and translator, Kat switched to professional film editing training at the self organized filmArche Berlin (2011-2014), then worked in the field for several years and later moved on to Filmuniversität Babelsberg for her MA in editing. In her projects, Kat looks for underrepresented perspectives, aiming to bring them to light in a formally exciting way.
Kat's work includes the documentaries Familiar Places and Subject Spaces, which screened at festivals such as Locarno's Semaine de la Critique, Oberhausener Kurzfilmtage, BFI Flare, Kasseler Dokfest, Achtung Berlin, XPOSED and many more; in addition her work was also screened in art spaces such as Kunsthalle Schirn, Berlinische Galerie, Künstlerhaus Wien, Museum der Arbeit Hamburg, and others.
Kat loves the collectiveness of filmmaking, how the shiny mess transforms into a coherent thing and all the conversation that feeds this process.
