Loránd Balázs Imre (1979) is a Berlin-based filmmaker specializing in socially and politically engaged documentaries. With over 15 years of experience, he has worked on films exploring themes of democracy, human rights, and social change. He holds an MA in Journalism from Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Hungary, and later studied Cinematography at filmArche Berlin. As the co-founder and head creative of SpeakEasy Project in Budapest and later filmDOUGH in Berlin, he has produced and co-produced numerous internationally recognized documentaries. Balancing creative and production roles, he has participated in industry labs across Europe, including EsoDoc (2018), and is an Emerging Producers Fellow (2025). His projects have received major international recognition, with 80 Angry Journalists awarded Doc Society’s European Journalism Documentary Fund. Beyond documentaries, he has also produced corporate films for global brands such as Ottobock, Gunzilla Games, the German Energy Agency, Telekom, and the European Union.
