Serge Gordey is a France-based international documentary producer. He is currently a senior producer at Temps noir (he previously worked in Point du Jour and Alegria), and is the cofounder and manager of Rosa Normandie Films, a Normandy based company.
Serge has been involved in the industry for more than 30 years. All this time, he has worked exclusively in the documentary field, first as a director than as a creative producer, mainly in the field of history, culture and political films.
His track record of the last 20 years includes the production of major films in the Middle-East. : “Human weapon” (Prix Europa 2003), “The Junction” (1st prize Haifa Film Festival) he was the executive producer of pioneer webdoc “Gaza-Sderot : life in spite of everything” for which he was celebrated as “international trailblazer” (Mipdoc 2009), he was the coproducer of “Five Broken Cameras”(Oscar nominated, International Emmy, among many other awards), he co-executive produced ’24 Hour Jerusalem” (Arte), “As I want” (Berlinale, 1st Documentary prize at Carthage International film Festival and International Women’s Creteil Film Festival), “H2 the occupation lab” (Doc Aviv, Fipadoc).
He was the president of the documentary committee of CNC (French national cinema center) from 2015 until 2017.and was appointed « Chevalier des arts et lettres” by the French Ministry of Culture for his advocacy in favor of documentary creation.
