Anna Khazaradze is a Georgian producer/director who holds a bachelor's degree in Film and Television from the London College of Communication (UAL). She is a co-founder of 1991 Productions, a Tbilisi and London-based production company. With several years of experience, Anna specializes in developing, financing, and producing fiction and documentary films of emerging local and international talents through the European co-production scheme. Anna is a co-founder and executive board member at DOCA - Documentary Association Georgia and GFI - Georgian Film Institute.
Her achievements include co-producing together with 5 countries, Levan Akin’s new feature film Crossing, set to open Berlinale Panorama 2024. Additionally, her feature documentary Smiling Georgia (2023) premiered at the Karlovy Vary International FF. Anna co-directed and produced Glory to the Queen (2020), winning the Best Documentary prize in Georgia.
Anna is currently engaged in the development and production of feature documentary 9-Month Contract, a project pitched at Sheffield Doc/Fest as the Whickers finalist and spotlighted at Cannes Docs, and directing her documentary Berliner (Nipkow, CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator, and Close-Up Initiative). Additionally, Anna is working on a mini-series Nino and Iliko (Content London Digital Drama Pitch 2024), and a feature fiction Tear Gas, funded by GNFC, CNC, and ZDF/Arte. Her projects have garnered attention at various pitching markets and international workshops.
