Andrea graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at Charles University and in Documentary Film Directing at FAMU, Prague, Czech Republic. She worked as a reporter for Reflex magazine, producing documentary films for Czech Television and private broadcasters. In 2001, she co-founded the Institute of Documentary Film (IDF), which under her leadership developed into the biggest NGO supporting documentary films in Eastern Europe. In the years 2003–2008 she was a member of EDN Executive Committee, a member of the working group creating the proposal of the new Czech Cinema Law and participated in creating the Audiovisual Training Coalition. Since 2011, she has worked as tutor, director, producer and expert. In 2012, together with DOK.Leipzig she founded the dok.incubator workshop.
