After obtaining a master's degree in philosophy at Paris IV, Audrey Maurion began her career as a chief editor in 1995 on feature films and documentaries for cinema and television. Her career path has led her to edit both fiction and documentaries, and she is particularly interested in working with archives and history. To date she is credited as an editor on over 60 documentary films. Over the last few years, Audrey has been a consultant editor for various documentaries in South Africa. She has been involved with the documentary community in South Africa since 1997 and her involvement in the international audiovisual project Steps for the Future. She also gives master classes in different organizations (University of Fine Arts Amsterdam, dok.incubator, DocAfrica, Close up, etc.) and she is in charge of a course on documentary and fiction filmmaking practice at the University of Paris 1 Pantheon Sorbonne. Since 2019, she is a member of Rough Cut Service, an international association of editors (Sweden/France/United States/Israel/Venezuela/Denmark, etc.) that helps young directors from all over the world to finalize their films and give them an international dimension.
