Míša (24) returns to his hometown for his father’s funeral, only to discover the coffin is empty and the ceremony staged. As he searches for the truth, he is forced to confront his father’s painful and controversial past as a former Soviet military attaché during the Red Army withdrawal. Drawn into the orbit of his father’s old underworld friends, Míša becomes fascinated by their strange codes and loyalties. When another figure from the past appears — Tichon, an arms dealer and former Olympian — his wild stories, including one about a missing Soviet submarine, start to feel disturbingly real. Míša is compelled to dig deeper, finding it increasingly difficult to leave this dangerous place that still feels like home. Three Weeks Under the Sea is a genre film blending gangster drama, thriller and film noir.
