Marek studied journalism and international relations at Masaryk University and creative writing and media studies at the Literary Academy. He has worked in the media in various positions for twenty years, originally he started as a music journalist and in recent years he worked as the deputy editor-in-chief and head of lifestyle at Aktuálně.cz. Since 2023, he has been the editor-in-chief of Refresher, the largest lifestyle website for young people, which is visited by an average of 1.5 million people per month.
