Una Gunjak is a Sarajevo born, Paris based writer, director and editor. She studied in Italy and in the UK, where she obtained her MA in Film Editing at the National Film and TV School. She has extensively worked as editor, before starting to write and direct as well. Her short film "The Chick-en" made in 2014 premiered at the Cannes Film Festival Critics' Week, won the European Film Award for Best Short Film 2014 and screened in the International Competition of Sundance Film Festival.
Excursion, Una’s first feature film had its world premiere at Locarno Film Festival 2023, taking home the Special Mention Award. It went on to screen at more than 40 festivals so far, winning along awards such as Best Actress at the Marrakech Film Festival and Best Script in Auteur Film Festival in Belgrade.
Una is an editing consultant for the First Cut Lab and as a guest speaker she has been part of the European Short Pitch Program and the Midpoint Institute.
