Having started out as a film critic, Yorgos Krassakopoulos has been a founding member of the Athens International Film Festival, and the movie website, Flix.gr, and a member of the European Parliament’s LUX Prize selection panel for several years. After collaborating with the the Thessaloniki Film Festival in various ways for many years, he joined the team full time as a programmer in 2011 and in 2016 he became the Head of Programming for both the Thessaloniki Film Festival and the Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival, a position that he holds to this day.
