Jaroslav Beran graduated from Secondary Industrial School of Communication Technology Panská in Prague, where he studied Film and Television Production. Subsequently, he studied directing and screenwriting at Tomas Bata University in Zlín and graduated with the short film Trophy in 2021. He started making the documentary Return to Life as a student project during his studies at TBU. Since the protagonists' stories were so interesting, it became a time-lapse documentary, which he continues to make as a graduate.
